NEW YORK - Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ - Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced record-breaking figures of visitors from the United States who visited Israel in July and August. Israel welcomed 78,000 travelers from the United States in July 2022 which is an increase of 4% from the year before and 71,000 travelers from the United States in August 2022 which is an increase of 13% from the year before.

Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States remains our most important market for Israel-bound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 epidemic that was in the news, we had record-breaking tourist entry numbers every month. We are delighted to see this shift and expect an upward trend that will continue for months and even years.

Canada, which has 7200 tourists visiting the country in July 2022, and 6,000 tourists in August, isn't too much from the United States.

Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that "it's amazing to see the way that tourism in Canada is booming." We are getting close to our record-setting numbers for the year 2019 and we expect that this increase in travel to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians are more comfortable at home when they travel abroad.

Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists from abroad in 2019 including 969.600 being from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all travelers, regardless whether they're vaccination-free. The country has already hosted more than 600,000.
